Allison Herren

Allison Herren, a native of Nashville, TN, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in history from Birmingham-Southern College in the spring of 2011. During her four years at ‘Southern, Allison was active in the Harrison Honors Program, which facilitated her studies abroad in Costa Rica. Allison was also selected for a Hess Fellowship, which allowed her to work at the YWCA Central Alabama, where she focused on statewide data for the availability of affordable housing. Allison served as a teaching assistant for several history courses, receiving a Charles B. Vail Fellowship her sophomore year to conduct research and gain teaching experience. For two consecutive years, Allison was awarded the Fred B. Joyner award by the BSC history department. Spending time in numerous campus activities, Allison served two terms as Vice President of Membership for Pi Beta Phi and was the editor-in-chief of the Southern Academic Review, a BSC publication. Allison looks forward to attending graduate school following her time with Impact.
