Impact Alabama’s fundamental staffing model relies on employing talented, intelligent, and socially conscious recent college graduates for one or two years following graduation. Our team members travel statewide to implement our signature initiatives, earning only a modest stipend for their tremendous service.

Pam Slate
Board Member
After receiving degrees in mathematics from Birmingham-Southern College and mechanical engineering from UAB, Ms. Slate graduated cum laude from Cumberland School of Law. While attending Cumberland, she served as Writing Editor for Cumberland Law Review, as a member of the ABA National Trial Team, and as a member of Cumberland’s Honor Court. While practicing law in Birmingham and Montgomery, she has served on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar and on the Birmingham Bar’s Ethics Committee, and currently serves as a member of the Alabama State Bar’s Disciplinary Rules Committee and as Co-Chair of the 2012 Law Day Committee. She has resided in Montgomery since 2005, and is the managing partner of Slate Carter Comer PLLC.
Ms. Slate also serves on the boards of Kid One Transport and Rebuilding Together Central Alabama, is President of the Montgomery Dragon Boat Race & Festival, which benefits RTCA and Bridge Builders Alabama, and is Treasurer of the Montgomery Rowing Club. She has previously also served on the board of Magic City Harvest.
